‘Luxury in a bottle’, is the only way to describe ‘Lady Million’ by Paco Rabanne. This standalone fragrance powerhouse differs from its masculine counterpart, ‘1 million’. ‘Lady Million’ is a playful interpretation of a self-assured woman comfortable in her sensuality. A fragrance appealing to women who not only look like a million dollars but want to feel like it.
A Femme Fatale Fragrance
A black dress and striking red lips. If that doesn’t scream femme fatale, I don’t know what will. However, in saying that, ‘Lady Million’ by Paco Rabanne is a close second. The phrase ‘femme fatale’ describes an irresistably attractive woman, who leads men into dangerous, or disastrous situations. Unlike other fragrances I have reviewed as embodying femme fatale energy, such as ‘Good Girl’ by Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne manages to achieve a sensual experience whilst remaining flirty and playful.
Projection and a scent’s warmth are two things I look for in my personal perfume collection. This perfume has a mutualistic relationship of the two. There is a strong projection for the initial couple of hours after application, perfect for a confident woman who wants to command a room when she walks in. Yet at the 4-hour mark the scent becomes intimate with its heart and base notes of honey, patchouli, orange blossom, and jasmine taking center stage. Allowing for a warm woody essence to emerge.
Perfume Notes
Lady Million is a seductive and feminine scent with a fruity/floral nature. It is the perfect mixture of decadent flowers with fruity undertones, adding an element of sweetness to the scent profile.
The perfume has top notes of neroli, bitter orange, and raspberry, which add a level of sweetness that is not overtly gourmand and sickly. The experience of the fragrance is transparent rather than opaque. The notes don’t hit you abruptly, but rather you are able to smell right through the different layers. Also, neroli is an example of one of the white flowers used to establish an intimate woody warmth, which evokes an overall feeling of comfort.
The heart notes are honey and patchouli, again adding an element of sweetness. The base notes along with the heart notes help facilitate the intimate fragrance that fully emerges after a few hours of wear.
Perfume Hit or Miss?
This is definitely a ‘perfume hit’ for me. A fragrance that is sexy and sweet, but digestable with a transparent opening of layers that not only oozes confidence, but playfulness too. I would definitely buy this fragrance again.
